Garda Vetting

The Garda Central Vetting Unit, based in Thurles, Co. Tipperary deals with requests to vet certain prospective employees. It only deals with requests from organisations that are registered with the Unit.

The Professional Institute of Care Providers (PICP) is registered with the Garda Central Vetting Unit for such vetting. PICP provides “garda vetting” to both members and non members. Members of PICP benefit from a reduced payment rate for this facility.
